Societies Dregs
As a nation the US now seems hell bent on supporting the lowest common denominator. Individuals who, without personal discretion, spent more than they had, lived a very socialist lifestyle sucking off the tit of others and now the government using the tax dollars of responsible individuals to pay for it.
The vast majority of income tax is paid by the top 5% earners in the US, 94% of all income tax is paid by the top 50%. How about we STOP scrapping the bottom of the barrel and lowering the bar of success to allow failure to be rewarded.
Individual bankruptcy was up 34% last month. So with all this stimulus, where are those individuals "bailouts"? I guess they can make up part of our 10% unemployment now. It truly amazes me how people can have a high approval rating of this administration when they have assisted in double digit unemployment and a 13.5+% deficit spending (it was 4% when Bush left office, so you can't blame them..sorry).
I can only imagine what this place will be like in 5 years. Nobody has even discussed the failed socialist institution of Social Security. It would help if the average citizen understood that what they pay to social security is spent immediately and is not sitting there for them.
I did take great pleasure in watching Alren Spectre get reamed by constituents and attempt to side step them by stating "we have to make decisions quickly" to which he received a long and loud series of boos and questions as to why. That is a good question. Why? Why this urgency. We were told for months leading up to a near Billion dollar package that it was essential to save the country. Save it from what? Double digit unemployment, bankruptcy, failed banks, foreclosures.....ALL things we have now. What is this blind faith in people you haven't met who don't listen to you?
Now we are onto health care, the biggest joke of them all. Health care in the USA is outstanding, access and cost are the issues. So instead of addressing those matters by implementing 150% tax breaks for companies that supply 100% employee HC programs, we've decided to reduce overall benefit to reduce cost and redistribute funds from one class to another. Have you visited a VA hospital lately? If not, please do. Then tell me what a great idea it would be to have government run health care.
