Oil Companies are NOT the enemy

For the life of me I can't understand this uproar against ExxonMobile and other companies. These are publicly traded companies that stock up the portfolios of thousands of 401K and IRA accounts. Not to mention provide hundreds of thousands of jobs.

They have a 8% earnings ratio, compared to Google's 20+% but for some reason they get hammered because of their gross revenue numbers. All they are doing is playing by the rules. If citizens don't like their costs, complain to the government. Then when they append additional taxes to oil, don't be surprised when the US (Exxon) companies pull out and head over seas. Leaving the US importing ALL of its oil.

Serious discussion on Gun Control

I see random headlines constantly that read "tougher play on Gun Control", "tough stance on Gun Control", "Rethink Gun Control". And I completely, Agree. We need a tougher and rethought stance on Gun Control - the removal of it. For decades America has sought to stop violence of a free society by putting restrictions on guns, most recently pimping a tragedy for their benefits. The fact of the matter is that gun crimes are down historically, in fact they've been going down since the mid-1990s. And in the 1990's gun related homicides peaked just two years after the original "Assault Weapons Ban" went into effect. Pretty much proving that the ban had little if any impact on gun homicides. What we should be doing is rethinking why we have attempted to address a symptom and never the cause. Violence is prevalent in a large amount of American society but we refuse to address it. People, children are murdered daily in city streets but rarely...

Discovery Channel accused of being "Insensitive" for having #SharkWeek with N.C. attacks.

Attorney Mike McKinnley, a lawyer representing Jasmine Casine a recent shark attack victim in North Carolina, has threatened to sue the Discovery Channel for being "Irrationally insensitivity given the current events" and that if the Discovery Channel doesn't end the programming he will lead a Class Action Lawsuit as well as organizing a boycott. CEO John Adams was quoted as saying "this seems absurd, I mean SharkWeek has become an icon in the programming line up and, seriously, none of our sharks were even filmed off of N.C, so we're pretty sure they didn't hurt anyone".
