Since we've already allotted 700B to socialist bailouts, I'm not quite sure how 25B of that pot is a bad idea to save and industry, this if destroyed, would basically bankrupt the state of Michigan as well as a couple thousand supply chain companies. IMO not passing a 25B loan to GM and Ford would be a bad idea. Of course, there should be rules/regs in place...and IMO Chrysler deserves none of it (privately owned = your own damn problem). Again, this goes 100% against my Libertarian beliefs but apparently the country is all for handouts, so roll with it. We'll see I guess. Give it up to Ford who, of the big 3, is most solvent as a company!!

So the greedy sand people of OPEC decided to cut production because they want $100/bbl oil. Sadly, their production cut of 1.5M bbl/day actually led to a FALL in oil prices! Awesome.

You should ONLY back someone you believe in and agree with. Not partially agree with, not think can win, not wouldn't it be cool, but someone you actually agree with. Don't get force fed candidates by the media, instead look around. Read. Kick over a few rocks, and find someone that you could actually sit back and say "this person will do a great job". Remember both the Rep and Dem party are responsible for the mess the country is in now. It couldn't have happened without shared responsibility. And as election time nears, they all point fingers and they all cast blame...but none say "hey, ya know what? Government was the problem and thus, I was the problem". Government, both Dems and Reps stopped working for the "people" a long time ago. They will continue to attempt to mandate via tax code and legislation, what is good for you in their eyes and with their agenda in the forefront.

The day after the election, thank God. Then CNN can shut up.

iChat on the Mac is one of the best IM tools I've used. It takes what was good about GMail chat and customizes it for the Mac. Great IMO, though I know there are some out there who don't think so :)

All this stimulus package garbage in the US is non-sense. All it is is redistribution of wealth as dictated by the government. Taking money from those who do well to aid those who don't. The problem is, this simply is not part of the capitalistic system. If the US wishes to be socialist, fine, then organize energy supplies and limit fuel costs per government constraint. Also, socialize medicine and the infrastructure of the country. You can't simply limit it to getting votes or bailing out banks.

For the life of me I can't understand this uproar against ExxonMobile and other companies. These are publicly traded companies that stock up the portfolios of thousands of 401K and IRA accounts. Not to mention provide hundreds of thousands of jobs. They have a 8% earnings ratio, compared to Google's 20+% but for some reason they get hammered because of their gross revenue numbers. All they are doing is playing by the rules. If citizens don't like their costs, complain to the government. Then when they append additional taxes to oil, don't be surprised when the US (Exxon) companies pull out and head over seas. Leaving the US importing ALL of its oil.

I can do nothing but THANK the DNC for delaying a nominee for so long. It showed Obama for who he really was, a politician none the less. Some of his thoughts are amazing; raise taxes on those making more then $230K (that would be the majority of small business owners, more socialization (welcome to France) and less reliance on oil without any alternative in place. All his "change" message is simply socialist propaganda. The US media is in love with him and the 9% approval rating congress is praying he is put in charge. The worst think that could happen to the US is Obama, sadly, the average US citizen is simply too out of touch to actually understand what he will do.  Quick question to the Obama fans, what policy does he have that you like? Shocker, you probably can't list one.

I can't think of anything more ridiculous then a 2008 Government apologizing for acts of the Government over 100 years ago. When does that kind of apology stop? Couldn't anyone "wronged" by the Government in the past now ask for a formal apology. If black Americans want an apology they should look to the Dutch, the same government that brought slavery to the US when it was only a collection of colonies.

There is all this chit-chat about Obama being a Muslim, who cares? Lets through all semblance of logic out the window and assume that Obama is a Muslim Fundamentalist attempting to destroy the USA. Well, branches of government folks, he'd still have to get past the legislative and judicial branch. There is no threat there.

I read this on a forum once, and I totally agree with it. To solve the majority of global economic woes currently, make all commodity traders take delivery of their orders in at least 90 days. Then you would watch how fast those prices drop. 

Over the past few weeks my neighborhood and surrounding areas have had electrical outages because of passing storms. Of course, during these outages everyone seems to go into irresponsible mode which then leads to 'who can I blame for being a moron?'. One such incident occurred at a traffic stop. Sadly a person died as a result of an individual having two children in the back of her car, not buckling them in, and running through an intersection with the power out, and not even pausing to look for traffic. The result, a Kia is hit by a Ford F-450 and one child is left dead. Now people are commenting that it is the power company and local polices fault for not protecting the intersection. How so? A person decides not to abide by any rules and when a problem/tragedy occurs it is someone else's fault? Just one more senseless move in the chess game that is modern society.
