Drone Award.

I'm torn on this, I'm not sure if I agree with the anti-award crew or I'm against them. While I'd agree that the medal shouldn't trump the 'purple heart', I do believe soldiers and the ilk that support drone warfare should be acknowledged ceremoniously. They are in fact defending the Nation, they are in fact defending other serviceman, they are in fact a force in war and they are in fact carving away a portion of the DoD budget.

I guess I find it ironic that we routinely say in the United States that cyberwar and drone-warfare is necessary, but somehow try to say it isn't significant enough for merit. Seems at a minimum hypocritical. Also remember that soldiers, airman and Marines don't necessarily "pick" their job role. And to mock their efforts as non-sense because they get to sit in an office, or perhaps a tent, and operate a drone is moronic at best. They are doing their job, doing their part that they are asked for the Nation - they should be awarded similarly.  So I guess in conclusion, I think they should get citations and awards, however, I don't believe it should carry more merit that an award to designate injury in the line of duty.
