Book burning in the 21st Century
Yesterday the United States Government decided it would partake in a modern day book-burning. Much like Nazi Germany in the 1930's, which wished to burn the titles of Jewish writers in an attempt to remove a "knowledge problem", the US Government decided it would attempt to remove "a knowledge problem" by removing open source plans for a 3D model plastic gun.
The US Government had absolutely, 100%, no jurisdiction to take the plans, but did so anyway for "security", sounds an awful lot like Hitler's rationale for the Rhineland. America should be concerned. We have DHS buying millions of rounds of ammunition and extreme armored personnel carriers, social security buying ammunition and now peoples freedom to express knowledge stripped of them. The question is, where is America heading? Is this the change Obama spoke of, the fundamental change? Seems so.
The amazing part is that for years the left-media railed against Bush for encroaching on Citizens rights, but now seems either silent or almost an enabler. Time and again the media would tell us about the "Patriot Act" and our phone calls being listened to, but now, when our actual rights are stripped and the Government becomes more of an overlord that a body by the People and for the People, there is silence.
America, where are you heading?
