Help your Congressman.

I purpose that we get together as a nation and order up 535 copies of Any Rand's "Atlas Shrugged". Never has there been a more obvious turning point in American history where ingenious founders have crossed paths with societal woes. For those of you familiar with the text, you'll see the easy comparison to modern times; to those of you not in the know the book covers essentially the legislative destruction of private industry for the sake of a greater good, and the horrific result.

The book is over 1,100 pages long so you'll need to be dedicated to read it..though it is much shorter than the average legislative bill. And if you can't seem to stomach the idea of actually using your brain to paint pictures in your mind, you can always watch the partial version of the story in the movie "Atlas Shrugged Pt. 1" which tells the story nearly verbatim.

I strongly recommend anyone who dares call themselves a Libertarian or believes at all that maybe private industry is the answer to economic woes - read the book! Written in 1957 and pretty much panned by Critics, Atlas Shrugged details the use of Government and collective good along with the best of intentions, to help the world. However, this ends badly. You will be amazed how the nuances of the novel will point to current times, some 50+ years after its writing.
