It isn't all bad news...

I’m on a search, a search for a new agency that doesn’t report 70% bad news while overlooking anything good or positive happening in the world. I’ve tried the usual suspects – CNN, FoxNews, USAToday, Washington Post, NY Times – and all of them have let me down. For the last week I took time to count how many of the “Top Stories” were either about Death, War, Violence, or general discourse. I then looked specifically for “good” or “educational” stories that simply updated the reader on what is going on in the world.

Sadly, nearly 7 out of 10 stories were either about Political Smears, Murder, Investigations into Murders or general things going wrong in the world. Well, frankly, I’m getting tired of this. I would love to find a news source that didn’t focus on the bad, instead just told you what was happening without spinning fear. The only media outlet I’ve found so far is my local paper, which of course focuses on local issues. It is really disappointing America, let’s do better. Instead of focusing, ever, on what is good about America or the World, we look only for the bad.

Perfect Example: The Clint Eastwood Superbowl Ad. This was a great, inspirational advertisement for Chrysler that focused almost entirely on the betterment of America. Within 5 minutes of being out, it was spun by the Media Elite into some type of political campaign ad, which is absurd. And I think that commentary is what finally pushed me over the edge with the Media.
