GM needs to get in touch with Reality- making $3800/hr isn't enough.

The CEO of GM was paid 7.7M in 2011, less than 2M was salary the rest came as cash on stock value. Now consider that he was suppose to make 9M but the stock value fell (fell, indicating the value of the company went down). Since GM wouldn't exist today if Obama hadn't bailed them out with tax payer money in 2008, GM has to file annual salary docs with the Government. Well, in this weeks filing GM showed its CEO salary and then had the unmitigated gall to say they were at a competitive disadvantage. That's right, they said their CEO's should make more than 7M a year. The important part to note is who they compared themselves to: Ford, HP and Honeywell - companies that received no Government money. GM seems to have forgotten that they are a competitive disadvantage for the United States. If you don't want the pay package for the job, Quit! Stop crying about how the rules should be changed, yet again, for GM to survive. GM hardly liquidated any portion of their compan...

New Paradigm - Shank the Bank

For years those in America have been told that we need to have good credit, buy a home, have tax shelters and always try to get a car with a warranty; well the world has shifted. Today as we've seen in the housing market, there is no shelter in owning a home. Nearly 47% of Real Estate sales this year have been a result of Short-Sales, or those homes sold whose loan value exceeded market value. Keep in mind the market value was assessed by the same institution that wrote the paper, or loan, on the property - the bank. The bank makes its money by taking yours, it is called 'interest'. As in it is their best interest to keep you in a loan paying more than your asset is worth. Homes had been safe investments for the long term, but as of late too many involved viewed the home as an asset for value purposes and too many Federal programs wanted to allow even the most unreliable, to retain a loan. In the middle of 2005 and 2006, this market was at it height. In fact, in most case...

Tax system favors the "wealthy"

You hear this a lot, "our tax system makes the rich, rich" and it is true. Our current tax code is a bastardized version of the original from nearly 100 years ago. In fact, the whole idea of "taxing" income is moronic. Sadly, most citizens look at this unfavorable advantage to the 'rich' as a reason to "tax them more", wrong, it is a reason to change the whole system. The colonies originally revolted, with a less than 40% in favor by the way, because of unfair taxation. Well, that is what we have today. Our tax code should not focus on class-warfare, or pinning the rich vs the poor. It should focus on something much more simple. It should focus on purchasing. Instead of an income tax, we should have an expense tax. Every time you make a purchase we should pay around 10-13% in Federal Sales tax, on everything but groceries and fuel (heating, transportation or otherwise). There should be zero, zippy, none, nil in other words null income tax. It shou...

Trayvon vs George

I am so tired of the same BS rhetoric from the same BS personalities. If I hear one more person say that Zimmerman was "white", I'm going to lose it. Morons like this are an indication of the stupidity of the masses. God forbid we look at facts and statistics in the United States, lets simply pull individual items into a context we wish, to prove our case. As I sit here reading through "opinions" on this case that make these broad-sweeping accusations that 1) White people don't know their racist (Zimmerman wasn't white) 2) All black people need to be afraid 3) He was shot because he was black 4) Zimmerman did nothing wrong. All four of these statements are the dumbest thing I think I have read in a long time. For starters, Zimmerman's biggest error in judgement was following Trayvon after authorities had told him to leave him alone. That right there was a fatal error by George. That right there should be grounds for 1st Degree Manslaughter. There w...

Be careful what you highlight.

For the last few weeks Mitt Romney was getting slammed for paying 15% income tax when by all accounts his "income" should have put him in the top class. However, what seems to be left out was the additional 15% or so that Romney paid in Capital Gains on investments; while still quite lower than he should have paid, it is legit. So when this came out Liberals pounced on Romney highlighting how he doesn't pay taxes like 'regular folks' and needs to pay is 'fair share'. Well then, yesterday, the other shoe dropped. Obama's tax returns were made public and it was found that he paid a mere 20% in income tax. And what's worse, his Presidential Secretary who makes less than 100K a year, paid higher income taxes than the President. Ugh, so now the political spin machine has some 'splanin' to do. For someone so hell bent on the term fair share, the President certainly isn't paying his. I myself found my income in the 28% tax bracket this year ...

Tax them all I say!

Tax them all I say! I heard a commentator from some Democratic league this morning comparing current times to the close of World War II and saying that the top earners should be taxed up to 90% of their income. Really? Hmm, let’s see how this works. The harder you work and the more money you make, the more the government takes from you. So if you follow that to its logical conclusion, why would anyone want to make money? If out of all the money you work for you get to keep 10%, hell let’s say 40%, then why work? You’re working to pay taxes. That is absurd. Instead of this asinine focus on taxing income, i.e. the reward for work, you taxed expense, i.e. what you buy, you’d not only create a fair taxation system but you would immediately reduce class warfare and encourage people to earn more. Now why would the government HATE this type of tax system? It is simple, it makes it impossible for them to spend more than they take in and create long term spending projections. By not allowing ...

Mitt Romney....

Not that I'm a big fan of Mitt Romney, and I do believe that this years elections is Obamas to lose based on this years performance, but his chances at election ride on his running mate. Romney has a very presidential look but tends to look somewhat like a business shark. How that will damage or enhance his image, I'm not sure. One this is factual, the media focus on his faith is absurd. He is Mormon, so be it. Here is a fact that the media needs to wake up to, if a voter dislikes Obama no manner of religious hype on Romney will sway their vote no matter how "faithful" they are. This is very similar to all the Muslim hype thrown at Obama in 2008. Whether he is or isn't didn't matter, the voters were not going with another Republican so the sacrificial War Hero and Women were rolled out to lose. I said this then, I say it now. Nobody believed McCain/Palin would win, but they proved that the Republicans can run a woman, showed how vehemently the left attacked ...

Maryland, you complete me.

Maryland, you complete me, if my need was that of a lobotomy. Recently the amazing leader down in Annapolis decided that not only was $100K rich (avg income in MD is near $72,000), it was so rich that it deserves retro-active taxation. What does that mean? Well, that essentially the laws passed this year, would be impossible for you to have accounted for in your withholding this work year. So come April 2013, you'll owe by default. If that wasn't enough, he also feels that things are simply too cheap around here. Gas needs a tax increase, as does the cost to flush a toilet and while he is up, you should probably be deducting less from your 'rich man' tax return. What is the true bite on all of this is that the Democrats in charge of Maryland and led by O'Malley made practically zero cuts in spending, in fact, they asked for 1.2M a year to be sent to projects such as the "Eastern Shore Racetrack" association. The absurdity here is that the nation is in a re...

Greg Williams and "Bounty-Gate"

You have most likely heard about "Bounty-gate" - the charge levied against the former Saints defensive coordinator Greg Williams. To sum it up, Greg Williams was caught on tape offering rewards for the injury of specific players on the opposing team. What has come out from "players" defending Williams details why they are paid to play a child's game. They simply don't understand the real world. It is one thing to offer $1500 to a guy for sacking a quarterback, or legally laying someone out; it is entirely different to say "hit number 25 in the ankle" that 25 previously had ACL surgery on. That is intent to injure, not win. NFL players need to realize the reality of the situation, starting with the fact that they aren't paid for their minds. The vast majority of NFL players have no business in front of a microphone and need to realize they are paid to play a game that children, 6 year old children, play. Last I checked, children weren't sp...

Obama, learn to pass on the question

Obama once again commented when he needs to learn to say "next question". Today Obama weighed in on the Masters tournament and women in Augusta. President, keep your mouth shut. Stop watching opinion polls and learn to stay presidential. Same goes for comments about the Martin case in FL and in the past the Police case with your old prof. from Harvard. Stop COMMENTING.

Augusta, the female factor.

If you've been following the news, the libs are at it again and now it is focusing on the last bastion of "male" dominance, the Masters tournament in Augusta. The club is male only and apparently, that just doesn't work for some women. What drives me up a wall, why is this a big deal? Why do "we" care if a private (private) club with a 100 year history wants to be male only? Am I wrong or do we have a Woman's PGA while women could participate in the standard PGA? How about the multitude of woman or minority only operations in America, anyone crying about those? How about we all spend a little less time crying, moaning and being a general nuisance and start enjoying life.
