A man who never caught a fish, telling you how.

The fearless leader of the United States, President Obama, announced the other day that businesses didn't make it on their own. Really, kind of a shocker. I guess his overall "point" was it takes a village to raise a child; giving examples of teachers or a person in your life giving you guidance that helped you as a business owner. However, what he said was:

"If you got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen,” Obama said. "If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business, you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen. "

See it is comments like this that scare the crap out of small business owners. When I ran my company I got advice from a close friend who built up my confidence, reviewed my plans and sent me on my way. At no time, ever, did I receive any form of "public" assistance (aka. Government involvement). I didn't receive a loan, didn't take a loan, didn't get a single thing from the "Small Business Administration", not a thing but my own effort. After five years of running my business I sold it, and moved on to something new knowing I had started and finished something on my own. When you hear a supposed leader make comments, as Obama did, it shows you just how out of touch and pandering to the masses he can be.

I'm glad to see that the call to Arms for Obama is still "Hope & Change", as it should be as nothing he promised has he accomplished. It is time for a change America, a new direction, something other than partisan socialistic behavior. And while the masses seem to distrust at best large business, remember, they don't make the legislative rules they play by, Congress does. Your elected leaders create the gaps, create the loopholes, create the crash. While business can do a better job of self-auditing and recognizing that the stockholder comes first, it is entirely Congress and elected leaders that set the game in motion.

Fox News or CNN?

Ah, Fox and CNN. Where to start. Each one has its own bias. I was, for a very very long time an avid CNN viewer, literally the TV would be on CNN when I got home from work and stay there. Until the 2008 elections. I could not believe how much CNN backed the Democratic party. Almost to a point of annoyance. For every on RNC member on a panel there would be 2 DNC, usually one black man and one woman. The RNC person was almost always a white male.
