AFC is done and thoughts on the Saints

The AFC is not the great powerhouse of the NFL that it once was. It use to be, in the days of the Patriots and Steelers, that the NFL season would always conclude with an AFC win for the Lombardi trophy. Not so much now. In 2010 there were at least 5 teams in the NFC that could dismantle the best from the AFC. That is unusual. Seems the tide has shifted.

As for the latest SB champs, the NO Saints. Well what can I say, I guess I like Drew Brees? Personally I hate the city of New Orleans, in my trips there it has always been a colossal dump full of drunks, trash and prostitutes. Maybe I was in the wrong town? Then a Hurricane comes 5 years ago and all the sudden everyone loves New Orleans, whatever I guess. So on to football. The Saints have to be the first team in NFL history to win a trophy without having a defense. Maybe it is time to throw out all those "Defense Wins Championships" t-shirts. Drew played an outstanding game last night, he is truly a champion. I am very happy for that team (aside from Reggie "I'm really not worth it" Bush). As for that city, ugh. There isn't much saving it. So congratz to the New Orleans Saints, but not the city of.
