College Sports.
Miami sending 13 players to prostitutes, LSU constantly breaking the law and general disregard for policy in general aside, what is the deal in America with College Sports? Today I saw an ad for "College Colors Day", Sept 2nd, and it made me think...when was the last time the Nation celebrated a Colleges' ability to educate?
Are Colleges places of advanced education or athletic development houses? I get the money aspect, I'm not missing that, but I'm wondering when America decided the money and the sports were the most important parts. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge sports fan, but sports as a career not as an aspect of an educational system. In far too many cases athletes are treated as cherished objects of revenue via the NCAA and the schools that support it.
I'm just curious how long America will keep this obsession.
