Keys to financial reform

Obama speaks of financial reform, making government accountable and making tough choices while telling the truth to the American people. The "truth" is that America has become too social program dependent. We need to pull back these dependencies. We have spent far too much time doing whatever is possible and impossible to make class warfare the prime topic of debate:

"Tax the richest 10%"
"Remove tax breaks for the rich"
"Remove breaks for big business"

All of these comments are class warfare comments. What we need to realize and state are what we believe as Americans to be the core dependencies of the United States. Until we bracket what is important and critical, we can't cut costs. Everything is not priority one. The role of a leader, is to lead. The executive branch is suppose to lead. It is suppose to set the course for the land while legislative and judicial bodies organize and keep balances in scope. The job of a CEO is not to make grand dreams that are known to be unattainable but sound great for political pomp.

The United States has become engulfed with partisan debate and buzzwords that bow down to the loud minority. These buzzwords also point directly to social justice and your moral code. However, social justice is not fair. It is essentially bias and worse, it encourages the degeneration of society to a point at which there is a tremendous class divide between elite and poor, removing the middle class. It drives directly toward a state at which the government knows best and the lowly citizen is ever dependent on big brother.

Maybe the sad fact is that the US has become just another country, like Europe. Just a nation of people, loosely collected under a flag. A flag that doesn't mean much. This isn't how the United States were founded, but maybe that is where we've grown to. By lack of leadership, general malaise of the populace and incredible amounts of self-importance followed by instant gratification.

We were hit with a financial crisis, and what did we do? We spent more money. Money we didn't have. And when we realized that we were in a financial crisis and still spending what did we do, we spend another trillion dollars. All of this is done in the name of 'help', helping someone do something. And what are those that call attention to the doomed spending called: crazy, hypocritical, liars and in some cases unpatriotic. They are met with comments about how great it is now and how cheap life is now, the responders to discuss the future and the costs of the future only the now.

It seems the decisions the US minority has made have destroyed the majority. The question becomes where do we go when the music stops and the bill comes due? What would the US do if another World War broke out? We lack the funding to even compete and we would be destroyed. We are now running up debt levels against GDP that rival WWII. At least for WWII there was a cause, a rationale for the debt. What is the rationale now? Social..Justice.
