MLB has fewer blacks...

That was the basic headline in the sports section of the USA Today this afternoon. The gist of the article by Bob Nightengale is that less than 10% of players in MLB are "blacks" black being Americans of 'african' decent. After reading the article I left thinking, who gives a crap? Are we really so statistically based that if there aren't 12% of the players being black in MLB (you know to correlate with the percentage of US population) that the league must be plagued with racism? Well that said, I have three letters for the writer......N B A. What is the percentage of blacks and whites in the National Basketball Association? Hmm, well lets see after a little research in 2008 82% were black. So where is the outcry of racism against whites? Why are 12% of the general populace representing 82% of a professional sport. It must be racist blacks not allowing whites in the league right? I mean it has to be. It couldn't be that less whites play basketball than blacks and the the corollary is that less whites than blacks try to be professional basketball players. Right, I mean that is the only logical conclusion? Right?

Fox News or CNN?

Ah, Fox and CNN. Where to start. Each one has its own bias. I was, for a very very long time an avid CNN viewer, literally the TV would be on CNN when I got home from work and stay there. Until the 2008 elections. I could not believe how much CNN backed the Democratic party. Almost to a point of annoyance. For every on RNC member on a panel there would be 2 DNC, usually one black man and one woman. The RNC person was almost always a white male.
